Richard Bennett, is the founder and CEO of Sunbird Bioenergy Africa. His vision is to create a profitable pan-African renewable energy company that delivers job creation, import substitution, energy security and reduced carbon emissions for African governments. Richard secured the initial bioenergy projects for the company in Zambia, Zimbabwe and Nigeria, and acquired Addax Bioenergy in Sierra Leone. The company now produces and exports renewable fuels including bioethanol, renewable electricity and food and beverages including extra neutral alcohol.
Richard has more than 30 years entrepreneurial experience in the technology and renewable energy sectors and specialises in growing early stage companies for either trade sale or initial public offering. Previous projects include listing China New Energy Limited (CNE.L), MTI Wireless Edge Limited (MWE.L), Coms plc (RED.L) and J2 Inc. (NASDAQ:JCOM).
Airline COVID-19 bailouts should be conditional upon airlines committing to emission reduction targets; airline biofuel (Jet A1) can be produced competitively in Africa and support sustainable development goals →
